Chartwells School Dining Services is proud to be the foodservice partner for the South Sioux City Community School District.
We are a food company and food is what we do best! As we focus on a stronger culinary approach to our programs and menus, we remain committed to offering our students and school communities wholesome, nutrient-dense foods that taste GREAT! We emphasize fruits, vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy, lean meats, plant-based proteins and limit sodium, unhealthy fats and added sugar. We promote scratch cooking where possible and encourage variety and nutritional balance to our menus. Our skilled chefs and dietitians develop and test recipes that enhance the nutrient density of traditional student favorites meals while maintaining great flavor. We love food and it is the heart of everything we create!
South Sioux City Community Schools are excited to welcome students back to school and back to the café with a variety of new menu items, on-campus programs and innovations, partnerships and other initiatives for the 2016-2017 school year!
With Chartwells K12 as a partner, South Sioux City Community Schools are able to provide students with more than just a delicious and nutritious lunch; SSC delivers the education and motivation students need to live a healthy lifestyle in the cafeteria and beyond.
Free and reduced meal applications may be submitted any time during the school year. If your student(s) was/were eligible for free or reduced meals at the end of the 2015-2016 school year, you must remember to re-apply on a yearly basis. If your application expires and/or your family does not re-apply your student's meal account will be changed to "paying" status.
